Clean & Simple Christmas Pair

Guys! I’ve finally made, not one, but two cards in my apartment! It only took over a month…but hey, I still don’t have a craft desk, so two cards so far is pretty good!

I don’t usually impulse buy (you guys know I’m a cheap crafter ;)), but when I saw the samples for the October My Monthly Hero, I just ran with it. I also slipped in Sledding Stamp & Cut and Peace, Love & Joy. The Peace, Love & Joy is special to me because I designed it! Definitely one of my favorite stamp sets I’ve designed so far, and I was so excited to play with it. These cards probably took me about an hour to make, possibly because I had the sentiment placement already designed since I made the stamp set. 😉

Traditional Christmas Colors

I arranged the large sentiments on my MISTI and stamped them in VersaMark on Bristol cardstock. Then I heat embossed in gold glitter powder, because sparkle is the way to go when you have clean and simple cards. Actually, sparkle is the way to go with any and all cards…

I then stamped the pines in Pine, Moss and Forever Green, and topped the panel off with White heat embossed sentiment and some pretty red gems.

I adhered the entire thing on a kraft card base.

Non-Traditional Christmas Colors

I had so much fun with the traditional colors that I decided to try the branches in blue!

This time, I heat embossed the sentiment in silver sparkle powder. I stamped the branches in Soft Pool, Summer Sky and Aquatic.

The sentiment was again in White, on blue cardstock, and some blue gems topped this one.

Your thoughts

Which colorway do you like best? I can’t say I have a preference, but I do know I want to try digging out my copper embossing powder and trying that out with some pink and red pines.

  1. These large sentiments are gorgeous as the focal point on your cards. The blue palette is just as lovely as the traditional colours.
