Hey there! Today I’m sharing a layered die-cutting card, with lots of fun colors that just make me happy!
I wasn’t planning on sharing this today (I had a different post scheduled), but I’ve been feeling out of sorts with my latest card creations lately – you ever have that feeling? Not just a lack of mojo, just a lack of motivation and fun in the process. So instead of posting a card I didn’t like as much, I wanted to share one I really enjoyed the process and final outcome of.
I made this while I was in the process of making THIS contrasting backgrounds card, and between the colors, images and die cutting, it was such a fun one to make.
I started out by die-cutting the gorgeous Papel Picado Confetti die in white, and adhering it down to a white card base. Then I took the Color Layering Hibiscus stamp set, and stamped the flowers in a mix of Bubble Gum, Cotton Candy, Rose Madder and Ultra Pink. The leaves were stamped in a mix of Soft Vanilla, Butter Bar and Soft Apricot.
I can’t believe this was my first time playing with this hibiscus stamp set! It’s so fun, I had a hard time deciding on what color combo I wanted to stick with!
Then I began playing with the Color Layering Parrot, another stamp set that I really haven’t taken advantage of. I stamped it in Soft Sky, Cornflower, Passion Flower, Rose Madder and Grape Juice. I really enjoyed combining the purples, blues and pinks all in one little guy.
After die-cutting the flowers, leaves and parrots with their coordinating dies, I adhered them on to the card, along with a sentiment from A Little Bird Told Me that I heat embossed in white on black cardstock.
I topped the card off with some blue gems, and done! Thanks so much for stopping in and God bless!
