Hey there! I’ve got a fun film inspired card today, using the new Color Layering Mountain Lion stamp set.
When I first saw Black Panther, I just knew I had to try to recreate the night dream scene – the sky was just so beautiful!
The background was created pretty similar to THIS card – a blend of Indigo, Summer Sky, Grape Juice, and Navy. Then I covered the background with Versamark, sprayed it with Shimmer Spray, and covered it with clear sparkle embossing powder. I heat set it, and adhered it to the card base.
I then die-cut some clouds (from Safari Sunset) and trees (from Safari Wild About You and Safari Huge Thanks) from black cardstock, and adhered them to the background. To create my shaker card, I filled the background with some blue ombre sequins, then adhered the background to a piece of acetate with some dimensional foam adhesive. I then roughly cut a “ground” from black cardstock, and adhered that to the acetate, and topped it off with a galaxy die-cut panel.
I really love the window fancy frame dies, because there’s so much intricacy and you can use as is, or you can trim away bits and pieces and only use some of the detail.
The cougar/panther outline was stamped in Versamark on black cardstock and heat embossed in white.
The last thing to do was stamp the sentiment in Grape Juice, trim it into a banner shape, and tuck it into the die-cut frame.
Have you ever made any cards inspired by any movies or books?
Thanks for stopping in and God bless!
