Hello! I’m popping in today with a just for fun card I made using the January My Monthly Hero kit.
I usually don’t post about products that are sold out (because I know how frustrating it is for people who can’t get it), buuuuuut, I designed the concept for the set, I’d been waiting months to play with it, and I only just last week got the time to do so. So I’m showing you anyways. 😉
The whole flower shop idea was inspired by a super fun GIF I found (scroll all the way to the right) – the artist, Oamul, is absolutely amazing. From there, I doodled away!
I’m not gonna lie – stamping, coloring and die-cutting all these little pieces is rather tedious, but it’s just the kind of tediousness that I love. Coloring all those different, teeny flowers is one of the few ways I can get a lot of different colors on one card, because I usually keep to 2-3 limited color families.
I colored everything in with my ZIGs, which was a little difficult for some of the finer details, but I missed the little brush pens, so I went through with it anyways. After die-cutting everything, I adhered it to the card front.
I have a short little clip on my Instagram, showing some of the design process behind the stamp set, if that’s the sort of thing that strikes your fancy. 😉
If you’re sad you missed out on this set, you can always subscribe to Hero Arts kits to make sure you don’t miss one (and you get a discount). Also, usually at the end of the year they do a poll for the two favorite kits of the year, and usually make the two most popular into stamp sets you can buy at any time. 😉
That’s all for today! Thanks for stopping in and God bless!
