Layers of Die-Cutting + VIDEO

Hello! Today I’m participating in the Hero Arts March 2018 My Monthly Hero blog hop, using some dies and stamps from the main kit, as well as some pretty extra fuchsia flowers.

The main kit dies are just so stinkin’ pretty that I wanted to make a really soft and delicate card to pair with them. So I brought in an add-on from this month, the Bold Graphic Confetti Die, which is so pretty and reminds me of a trellis…so of course I had to have some flowers climbing up and down said trellis! While I was searching for a good floral set to use, I stumbled upon one that I had never really tested out – Color Layering Fuschia. Turns out, this set is gorgeous!

To see how I paired these products, watch the video below or on my Youtube channel. Not gonna lie, this was tricky video to narrate and I cringe at the excessive (even for me!) use of “uh” and “um”, but I am literally uploading this an hour before the post goes live, so I didn’t really have time to redo the voiceover. That, and the downstairs neighbor is really jamming out to some hard rock now…;)

If you liked this video, please give it a big thumbs up and share with a friend! Leave a comment too – I always love hearing from you!

For the first card, I die cut an A2 panel with the Bold Graphic Confetti Die die, and then die cut a circle out of the center. I adhered the larger portion to the card base, and then began stamping. I stamped the flowers in Soft Pink, Soft Purple, Fresh Peach and Stone Wash (which I also used for the “vines”). After stamping, I die cut the flowers with the coordinating dies and adhered them to the card.

The beautiful “thank” die is from the main kit, as well as the banner and “you” sentiment beneath it. I die cut both from Sea Layering paper, and then heat embossed the “you” in white. I die cut another “thank” from foam adhesive, and then adhered it with the cardstock die cut.

Once that was set, I adhered the sentiments to the card base and topped the card off with some purple gems.

Using the remaining die cut from the “trellis”, I adhered it to another card base. I stamped and die cut more fuchsia flowers, this time using the color combo of Soft Pink, Soft Cantaloupe, Dark Quartz and Cornflower. I adhered these flowers to the card base.

The “hugs” die, also from the main kit, was die cut from some glitter cardstock. LOVE. I also adhered this to a die cut foam piece. Before adhering it to the card, I realized it wouldn’t stand out enough amidst the flowers and textured die cut, so I slipped a scrap of navy cardstock on the card and then adhered the sentiment.

This card was also topped off with some gems.

Thanks so much for stopping in and God bless!

I love the idea of doing the die over the foam and letting it dry. I have to try this.. yes the foam looses it’s shape. great idea. Thanks so much.
