Quick Cardinal – Fifteen Minute Friday

Hey there and happy Friday! Today I’m popping in to share a card using the beautiful Poppies Pocket by Spellbinders, and can be made in fifteen minutes or less.

As soon as I got the Spellbinders Poppies Pocket die in the mail, I just had to see what it could make, so I made a quick cut without doing any dry embossing to capture all the little details in the die (like I did in THIS blog post). However, it still makes such a beautiful die cut!

I layered that die cut on some woodgrain paper from the February 2018 My Monthly Hero kit, but you could make a similar shade yourself by covering woodgrain cardstock with Wet Cement ink. A sentiment was stamped in the corner in black, using stamps from Many Everyday Messages and Thanks Stamp & Cut. Combining sentiment stamps from different stamp sets is one of my favorite stamping “techniques.”

Then I stamped the beautiful Hero Arts Color Layering Cardinal, using Fresh Peach, Pale Tomato and Red Royal for my layers. I die cut the little dude, settled him on the flowers, and that was it! Super quick and elegant, and could be used for a lot of different occasions.

Check out my Instagram today to see the play-by-play creation of these cards (and a chance to win a beautiful poppy die!), in my Stories.

Thanks so much for stopping in today and God bless!

  1. There’s something wonderful about the way layering stamps look so amazing, yet are so easy to use! I am in love with the neutrals+bright pop of red!
