Happy Friday! Today I’m popping in to share two cards using the super fun Unicorn Stamp & Cut set, each of which were hypothetically supposed to made in fifteen minutes or less.
I started out by wanting to play with some new ZIG colors I’d purchased, and realized I haven’t played with these adorable unicorns nearly enough.
For both cards, I stamped the unicorns in Charcoal and then die cut them. I then colored them with ZIG Cool Gray 1, S. Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Dark Pink, Pink, and Light Blue. I also added some clear Wink of Stella on the hair, which is pretty much unseeable in these pics.
Both backgrounds are a blend of Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Wilted Violet. I tried getting fancy with the first card by making my own stencil with the Star Confetti die and then heat embossing a sparkly background. Ultimately, it’s difficult to see even in real life, and it made me go over the fifteen minute time limit. Oh well!
The windows were die cut using the Rounded Rectangle Infinity dies, and then some cheapo Joann’s sequins create the shaker scene.
For the second card, I followed the same color method, except this time I actually die cut the background with the star die and then placed some blue paper behind. It’s definitely a lot easier to see the stars, plus, I covered the entire background with sparkle embossing powder. Difficult to see in the photos, but oh-so-sparkly in real life!
The window here was created by using another rounded rectangle die, die cutting it twice to get the length of this opening. Both cards use my favorite sentiment stamp set of all time – Lawn Fawn’s Chit Chat. I heat embossed it in white on gray cardstock, and die cut it.
Also, topped the unicorns off with a little bit of Star Dust Stickles, because, well, you know, you can never have too much glitter, especially on a unicorn card!
In the end, the first card took me about twenty minutes, because once I waltzed by the 15 minute limit, I just piddled around finishing it off. However, it did inspire me to quickly make the second card, so at least I got two for one here!
Check out my Instagram today to see the play-by-play creation of the first card – and a chance to win one of these unicorn stamp sets! – in my Stories.
Thanks so much for stopping in today and God bless!
